Who we are. YEAH.Org is a South Sudanese national non-governmental organization established to transform the lives of young people and communities through education, skills development, health promotion, environmental action, peacebuilding, protection and humanitarian assistance.
We believe that sustainable development begins when communities have access to knowledge, skills, services, opportunities and meaningful participation in decisions affecting their lives.
What we do. We design and implement programmes that respond to the social, educational, economic, health, environmental and protection challenges facing communities. Our work includes: Education and vocational skills development, Agriculture, food security and livelihoods, Community health and wellbeing, Youth leadership and entrepreneurship, Women’s empowerment and gender equality, Peacebuilding and social cohesion, Climate resilience and environmental conservation, Humanitarian protection and emergency response
Research, advocacy and knowledge development, Civic education and community engagement.
Where we work. YEAH.Org’s constitutional Head Office is located in Aweil City Council, Aweil Centre County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
The organization is mandated to extend its programmes to other states of South Sudan and, subject to registration, resources and partnerships, to communities across the wider region.
Who we serve. Our programmes prioritize: Children and young people, Women and girls, Persons with disabilities, Farmers and pastoral communities, Refugees, returnees and internally displaced persons, Survivors and people at risk of violence, Conflict-affected communities, Climate-vulnerable communities
Unemployed and out-of-school youth, Marginalized and underserved populations, Community-based organizations and local institutions
Why our work matters. South Sudan’s young population has enormous potential. However, many young people and communities continue to face barriers related to poverty, interrupted education, unemployment, conflict, displacement, climate shocks, limited access to healthcare, gender inequality and inadequate livelihood opportunities.
YEAH.Org works with communities rather than simply working for them. We support people to identify their priorities, strengthen local capacities and develop solutions that can continue beyond the life of individual projects.
Our commitment.
